Dude, that's so bold. And so true... I agree that sometimes I've tried to convince myself that I don't know what I'm to do, it's that I really, really... won't admit it, but I don't want to do it. Thanks for that read!

Taken from The Vision and The Vow by Pete Greig

Anyone who says that it is easy to follow Jesus is a liar. He Himself said that the way is narrow. But nothing we forgo in the cause of Christ—wealth, popularity, kudos, not even our very lives—can come anywhere close to the return. The way of discipleship—of covenant commitment and sacrificial worship—is costly and hard.
I was giving a friend a lift in my car one time, and we got to talking about life. “I don’t know what God’s calling me to do,” he confessed, and asked me to pray about what it… Continue

Forcing God Into a Formula

Hello, i read this to Tim last night when i was at his home, just a bit of context to my own story...

I had my hesitations about attending a “Bible college”. Fears arose in me after hearing about some Bible colleges jokingly rumoured to have separate sidewalks for male and female students to walk on (color coordinated of course- blue for guys and pink for girls).

Despite my apprehensions, I ended up attending a small Bible college in North-East Georgia. It was a great experience, and thankfull… Continue

The Progression of Christian Expression in the 20th-21st Centuries

I found a helpful little chart at Resonate.ca
By no means does this represent across the board what the sentiment is at all church communites – today you will still find churches in all these categories – but it does adequately describe the flow of perception that has occured in contemporary evangelical churches. Check it out...

A Report on the Forward in Faith/NA Council Meeting and Assembly

By by the Rt. Rev. Paul C. Hewett, SSC Diocese of the Holy Cross  ( H/T Virtueonline )   In his Address to the Assembly, Bishop Keith Ackerman said, "We are giving birth to the promise of a secure life as orthodox Anglicans in a new province which will be born next week in Fort Worth." FiF/NA is now a two pronged effort: 1. Those who are associated and affiliated parishes, both in and out of TEC. This prong will be represented in ACNA. Its purpose will be to help TEC parishes get out, a

Can the Christian Church Help Montgomery, Alabama?

Can anyone? I live in Montgomery, Alabama. I have lived and ministered here for almost 10 years. This past week, a horrible division occurred on Montgomery's school board along racial lines. Today, an article comes out confirming what everyone knows: White flight has completely taken hold in Montgomery County.   In just 8 years, whites have gone from 50% of the population of the county to 45% and the number is declining fast.  What will it be in 10 more years? Blacks have gone from 49% to 54% a

Sermon: Begone, Unbelief

Mark 6:1-13 Many years ago, I was listening to the radio late at night, when a song came on that I’d never heard before and I’ve never heard since. Not only that, I can’t find any trace of it on the Internet, despite all sorts of searching. It was by an American soul singer (now deceased) called Lou Rawls , and it was called, ‘You can never go back home’. I’ve found one or two other songs of the same title, but not the one he recorded. ‘You can never go back home’ could have been a song fo

Missions, Misunderstood

Photo by tinkernoonoo (license), adapted by Jon ReidOne of my favorite new blogs I read regularly is Missions, Misunderstood by "Ernest Goodman," a pseudonym for a former missionary. A recent post titled Expectations began, It usually goes something like this:“Yay, we’re going to be missionaries! We love the nations! God’s glory! Passion! Finish the task”Then, “It’s okay to be uncomfortable. Different isn’t necessarily bad. We can do this.”Finally, “I’m just not cut out for missions. The missio
